Happy birthday to us! Here’s a retrospective look at our beautiful plumage over the past two decades.
A brief history of Peacock Carter
In October of 2006, Richard Carter and Michael Peacock met as students at Collingwood College of Durham University, to work together on a web design business. By 1st November 2006, Peacock Carter & Associates was born.
Both had been working as freelancers in web design and development independently, Richard as “Evocative Design”, and Michael as “Think Systems Internet”. They began working in a bedroom in Durham, building websites, designing logos, and enjoying it hugely.
By 2008, we had taken office space at an old biscuit factory in Felling, Gateshead. We became a limited company in 2009, and Peacock Carter Ltd was born. Michael and I parted ways in 2011, remaining in software development, but the business continued.
We moved to Adamson House on Westgate Road in Newcastle upon Tyne in 2011. After 5 years there, we moved back across the river to the Northern Design Centre in January 2016.

A message from Richard
A few words from our founder Richard on reaching 20 years in business:
“In many ways, it doesn’t feel like 20 years at all – it has flown by. I’m really proud that Peacock Carter has made it to twenty years in business, and hope we’ll be celebrating again in 10 and 20 years!
Thank you to all of our employees, clients, contractors, and supporters over the years. It truly takes a village to survive and thrive for two decades and you’ve all had an impact on our success.”
Our logo over 20 years
Like any good designer, we couldn’t resist changing our own logo over the years.
We started as Peacock, Carter & Associates – and to show our age, we also used Peacock, Carter & Associates New Media for a very short time. It was cool back then, we promise!
Sadly, no original artwork or photographs of our original logo seem to exist. Let us know if you have one hidden away somewhere!
